However, it can sometimes cause problems with games. This can eliminate the possibility of the problem occurring by setting your hardware components to their default operating settings.

Run the game in a single core environment

You can test if the problem is caused when you use multiple cores to run the game. If so, only one core should be used.

  • Make sure that PUBG runs in windowed mode. Windows + R, Type “taskmgr” in dialogue box and hit Enter.
  • After the task manager has launched, go to the Detailstab. Launch PUBG. A very small window will appear when the process is visible in detail and when it is displayed on the screen. You can quickly right-click on the process to uncheck all processors , verify CPU 0 and click OK. This will cause the game to start with only one processor.
  • If all goes well, alt-tab to task manager and change affinity to All Processors

Verify that “Windows Management Instrumentation”, “Security Center” and “Security Center” are up

These services are essential for smooth game play, so ensure they are up and running.

  • Double-click on the Bit Defender icon to activate it.
  • Move the mouse arrow left until the Bit Defender window opens. Click >> Virus Shield.
  • Click on the black check to indicate that Virus Shield has been enabled.
  • The black work will turn to red when >> Virus Shield is disabled.
  • Click the down arrows and move your mouse arrow towards the top-right corner.
  • Bit Defender has now been inactive.
  • Click to enable Bit Defender.

Microsoft Security Essentials

  • Right-click the MSE icon from the system tray, and select Open.
  • Click on the Settingstab and then click real time protection.
  • Uncheck the box next “Turn off real-time protection”.
  • Click the “Save Changes” button.
  • When done, exit MSE.

ESET

  • To open the main application window, double-click on the icon in the system tray.
  • Or via >> All Programmes ESET>> Smart Security .
  • Click Setup >> Antivirus protection Temporarily disabled
  • Select Yes when prompted to confirm temporarily.
  • Please note: Protection is automatically started after a system restart.

McAfee

  • Look for the McAfee icon in the lower right-hand corner of the system tray.
  • Right-click it and choose “Exit.”
  • The popup will inform you that the protection has been disabled. To disable the Antivirus Guard, click on “Yes”.

Update the graphics drivers

This problem can be caused by an outdated or corrupted graphics driver. You will need to ensure that the driver is up-to-date in order to determine if it is the problem.

Nvidia graphics cards

  • To invoke the Run box, press Win+R (Windows logo and R keys) simultaneously.
  • Enter msconfig and click OK. The System Configurations window will then open.
  • Click the Boot tab when System Configuration opens. Check Safe Boot and then click OK.
  • If you are prompted to restart your computer in order to apply these changes click Restart and you will be able to boot into Safe Mode.
  • Click on This Computer then Local Data C to go to your local hard drive. The NVIDIA folder should now be visible. Right-click it and select .
  • Type Run into the Start box. The Run dialog box will open when you select Run.
  • Enter “devmgmt.msc” in the run box. Click the OKbutton to open the Device Manager Windows.
  • Expand the “Display adapters” area. This will display all Nvidia adapters installed on the machine. Right-click on the Nvidia adapter that you wish to remove and choose “Uninstall”.
  • When prompted to remove the device, click “OK”. This will uninstall the driver and remove the adapter.
  • To invoke the Run box, press Win+R (Windows logo and R keys) simultaneously.
  • Enter msconfig, and then click OK. The System Configurations window will open.
  • Click the Boot tab in System Configuration. Uncheck Safe Boot and then click OK.
  • Click Restart when you are prompted to restart the computer in order to make these changes.
  • Download the latest NVIDIA driver for your computer from here https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx.
  • Follow the screen instructions and run the setup file. Select the Custom installation option, and then check the boxes in the Custom install options windows. Check the box that says “Perform clean installation”.
  • Restart your computer

AMD graphics card

  • Get the AMD Cleanup Tool.
  • Locate the file where it was saved and double-click on the “AMDCleanupUtility.exe’ file.
  • The dialog box will say that AMD Cleanup Utility detected that the system was not in safe mode. It will offer the option to reboot the system in order to run the Utility in safe modes.
  • Click “Yes”, to reboot the system and run AMD Cleanup Utility in safe mode.
  • Next, you will see a warning message that the AMD Cleanup Utility will delete all AMD drivers and applications components.
  • To continue, click “OK”
  • After you click OK, the utility will minimize to the system tray and the progress will appear as a tooltip.
  • The cleanup process will continue in the background. You can check the progress by hovering your mouse over the AMD icon located in the notification area.
  • After the cleanup is complete, a message will be displayed to inform you that it was successful. To view the complete list of uninstalled components, click “View report”. To exit the Utility, click “Finish”.
  • Reboot your computer.
  • Visit the AMD Driver Support page to see section Auto-Detection and Installation Radeon Graphics Drivers on Windows.
  • To download the executable file, click the DON’T DISTURB button.
  • After downloading is completed, launch the installer.
  • To extract the files, click on Install.
  • Once file extraction is completed, the tool should launch automatically.

  • To continue, click Accept and install or close the window.
  • After you click Accept and Install, the tool will attempt detection of the AMD graphics products and the operating system.

  • Choose the version you prefer and select Express installation.
  • Once the driver package is downloaded, it should be installed automatically.
